If you compare the average worker in 2019 to 2023, the expectations, needs, and priorities are vastly different. Top organizations and designers have been and continue to adapt their workplace models, tools, designs, and resources to keep top talent engaged and satisfied.

Although working from home is not going anywhere, did you know that business leaders recognize that for most people, the best place to do work is in the office? Hybrid models are leading many industries, and when employees do commute to work, they want to ensure it is worth their time. Organizations aim to make the office a more holistic, intentional, connecting space that will enhance employee well-being and performance.

At Clarus, we want to amplify and support the balance of today’s changing workplace structure and design. So when employees head into the office, they have the tools and space to collaborate with colleagues and spearhead productivity.

Top three types of modern workers

 • Anchored Workers have a personal, assigned workspace and prioritize privacy and structure for productivity
 • Untethered Workers don’t have a dedicated workspace but value being in the office occasionally. They thrive in flexible environments that support different work modes and allow them to move between shared and private areas
 • Destination Workers are flexible in their work location, but prioritize diverse workspaces and seek out in-person collaboration

Most companies will have a mix of each type of worker, but it is imperative for business productivity and employee morale that each worker is able to find their specific spaces and tools to thrive.

Our versatile offering of mobile glassboards helps meet the needs of each type of modern worker. Employees can turn any space into a collaboration hotspot, or roll it away from office chatter and use the glassboard as a divider to create a separate focus nook. Employees are looking for mobility and customization when it comes to how they can best function when they are in the office, and giving them the option to move around, stay organized, and create their own spaces based on their needs is a tool that can adapt with each individual.

As companies rethink the role of the office and move forward in creating communal, multi-purpose spaces to bring people together, enhancing mobility and bringing in new tools to better accommodate workers is a great start.

As with anything over time, office design has continued to evolve over the years, and with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the expectation of change significantly accelerated. As employees return to the workplace, we see a new model being formed where employees are the focal point of the office experience. Did you know that around 86% of people in the U.S. prefer a hybrid work environment? Employees value the balance of remote work and a collaborative office space nearly as much as they do their salary. With the return to the office, companies are encouraged to update their spaces to create an atmosphere that employees look forward to commuting to. The days of rowed desks and cubicles are out, and innovative, inspiring, culture-focused spaces are in—is your business keeping up?

What does the contemporary office look like?

With a focus on both attracting and keeping top talent, companies are investing in items that boost employee productivity and wellness, crafting dedicated collaboration areas, and creating open environments that support employees in optimizing their workday. Top companies are pushing the design envelope for their offices so that employees want to commute in to reconnect with colleagues, hold in person meetings with the team, and even build up social capital. From relaxation spaces and brainstorming rooms, to food courts and bars, enhancing the modern office environment seems to have no limits. As the best of the best companies compete in each industry to win top talent, designers are pulling out all the stops to stand out.

Glass and color theory in your updated workplace

With a spotlight on employee well-being, comfort, and productivity, the best designers and architects are leaning into color theory to help build out modern spaces even further. Color is known to make a significant subconscious effect on people’s moods and general psyche—colors such as blues and greens can be used to create a calming atmosphere, whereas yellows and oranges can be used to boost productivity and optimism. Many companies also use color as an opportunity to showcase brand colors and logos, giving their space a cohesive look throughout. However you choose to utilize the power of color, low-iron Clarus glass is the purest material to naturally amplify it.

When upgrading your hybrid space, Clarus glass is the most dynamic, durable, and truly customizable option on the market. Whether it be an impactful floor-to-ceiling install in your entryway, writable glass Table Tops at each deskspace, custom-colored mobile glassboards you can roll from room to room, or even a mounted glassboard in the common area you can project onto in full HD quality, Clarus has countless products rooted in innovation and contemporary design. Are you ready to get your space up to date?

As you are shopping around for your glassboard, you may find similarities from brand to brand when it comes to functionality – after all, a lot of customers are simply in the market for a writing surface bigger than a notepad. But did you know that with Clarus glassboards, you are getting much more than just functionality?

We are proud to deliver quality that covers the basics, and we have even more pride in the extra steps we take to ensure an above and beyond glassboard product: from sourcing our materials, all the way to delivering directly to our customers. See below for a few things you may not already know about Clarus glass.

1: Clarus glassboards are manufactured to be used for a lifetime

From start to finish, Clarus products are manufactured to last. Our products are made up of strong, tempered glass that resists breakage and withstands the test of time. In comparison to traditional whiteboards that have to be replaced every few years, Clarus glassboards are five times stronger, and have even been tested to withstand the force of fastballs up to 100 mph – meaning that everyday wear and tear is no competition.

2: Staining is a thing of the past

Clarus glass gives customers the power of choice when it comes to writing utensils. Whether you prefer dry-erase, paint, permanent, or oil markers, our glass products can be wiped clean with ease after every use. Unlike traditional whiteboards that have to be replaced due to staining, our glassboards will never stain or ghost.

3: Our projection glassboards combat the parallax effect

Have you ever been using a projector and the image you are sharing won’t quite focus? The blurry issue you were facing is called the parallax effect, and with the right products can be avoided. All of our glassboards that offer projection capabilities combat the parallax effect and act as a clean surface for projected images to show up crisp and clear.

4: Sustainability is top of mind

Did you know that Clarus products are made out of recycled glass? Investing in Clarus means investing in the environment. By recycling, we reduce the amount of energy and fuel that are needed to create our products, lowering our overall air pollution footprint.

Engage Your Students With the Interactive Glassboard https://www.clarus.com/blog/engage-your-students-with-the-interactive-glassboard/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=engage-your-students-with-the-interactive-glassboard Thu, 14 Apr 2022 14:19:46 +0000 https://www.clarus.com/?p=61552 Blog Banner 1920×1080]]> Blog Banner 1920×1080

In the fast-paced and technology-driven world we live in, engaging with people of all ages can be a challenge, especially in the classroom. Teachers are forced to get creative with the way they present information in order to capture the attention of their students, but with Clarus interactive glassboards they have a dynamic tool to help them do just that.

What Is an Interactive Glassboard?

As its name suggests, an interactive glassboard is made of tempered safety glass and is accompanied by a projector. These glassboards allow teachers to connect their board with the internet or a digital display entity. This innovative combination promotes real-time collaboration between the projected information, and what is being handwritten or drawn by the presenter on the board.

Interactive glassboards combine traditional learning methods with modern technology, and act as a communication enhancement in any teaching environment.

Interactive Glassboards vs Whiteboards

Many people are familiar with the interactive whiteboard, and although glassboards and whiteboards are alike in many ways, there are a few key differences that put glassboards a few steps ahead:

 • Ease of use

Where smart whiteboards require timely setup and technical know-how to work effectively, Clarus glassboard technology is straightforward in nature. Instead of syncing the board, pen, and projector, the glassboard simply requires that the single projector is turned on for it to be presentation ready.

 • Durability

Our smart interactive glassboards are designed to withstand regular use, and are 4X more durable than a whiteboard. In the average business or education setting, glassboards can last up to 20+ years before needing to be replaced.

Although glassboards come with a higher upfront cost than traditional whiteboards, you’ll get this money back in the amount of overall savings from cleaning and replacement costs.

 • Simple Maintenance

Due to their non-porous surface, glassboards are more durable and offer easy cleanup in comparison to whiteboards. Where whiteboards require monthly cleanings to fight off streaks, shadowing, stains, and residue buildup, glassboards can be maintained simply by using any glass cleaner.

 • Customizable and Sleek

Clarus glassboards come in a variety of sizes and colors, and can be customized to fit any space. Glassboards offer a sleek design with clean lines for a simple, elegant appearance. With Clarus customization, customers can choose to have their board on display as a wall attachment, or tuck it away when not in use as a free-standing entity. Presentation tools should never have to affect the style you want to achieve in your space.

On the flip side, the look of a whiteboard can come off as clunky or unattractive, and does not always fit the style or size of every space.

In addition to the actual board, glassboards compared to whiteboards allow for more versatility in writing utensils – giving presenters the option between dry erase, permanent, and even oil-based markers.

What to Expect from your Glassboard

Incorporating the smart glass board into your space comes with an array of benefits, giving our customers modern solutions to traditional communication styles.

 • Increased Student Engagement

It is no secret that students learn better when they are able to interact with the material they are learning. When students use the interactive glassboard, they are able to see, work on, and interact with materials in real-time. In comparison to traditional lecture models, incorporating modern tools in the classroom significantly increases engagement.

 • Enhancing Your Lesson Plans

Taking out the limitations of traditional teaching methods and adding in digital aspects truly heightens presentation quality. Teachers now have the control to adjust their lesson plans to fit the needs of a modern audience.

Adding in aspects of creativity also makes learning more fun, and aids in guiding students or colleagues through complex topics.

 • Ability to Accommodate Different Learning Styles

In today’s education, knowing how to factor different learning styles into lesson plans helps meet the needs of a larger number of students.

With the ability to switch between audio, visual, and interactive content, presenters can meet the needs and promote information retention for nearly any audience.

Clarus glassboard products also meet the requirements of official 504 and IEP accommodations, aiding in the education of students with special needs and specific learning challenges. It is our priority to provide flexibility and optimization when it comes to the way teachers communicate with and educate their students.

Allowing room for creativity in any learning space sets audiences up for success. Take your student engagement to the next level with your Clarus interactive glassboard. Learn more on how you can get yours today https://www.clarus.com/

Writing board technology has come a long way over the years. Evolving from blackboards to whiteboards, to the modern, more versatile, writable glassboard. Writing boards have pushed education, entertainment, and communication forward, and continue to allow consumers to execute their ideas and thoughts seamlessly.

Each writing board has a preferred writing tool – blackboard being chalk and whiteboard being dry erase marker, but did you know that glassboards allow for even more writing options?

Choose Your Writing Tool

Glassboards give customers the option of choice when it comes to how they want to jot down their ideas. Depending on the desired effect: semi-permanent or non-permanent, Clarus boards are compatible with nearly any writing utensil. The most popular writing tool for non-permanent is the dry erase marker, which can be easily manipulated and quickly wiped off. For a more semi-permanent approach, permanent markers and oil-based markers are the utensils of choice. Although the semi-permanent options will give longevity to your messaging and design, they are still able to be wiped clean for a fresh start with the right technique.

How to Clean Your Glassboard

Cleaning your glassboard is a simple maintenance item that will keep your board looking nice for years to come. See below for the best practices for keeping your glassboard spotless after each use.

Best Cleaning Items

 • Soft cloth
 • Glass cleaner
 • WD-40 (permanent marker)
 • Acetone or nail polish remover (permanent marker)

Cleaning Do’s

 • Scrub the glass surface gently
 • Use cleaners that are approved for glass
 • Spray your cleaning cloth with the glass cleaner instead of spraying directly onto the glassboard
 • Follow up each cleaning with a dry cloth to ensure the removal of any streaks
 • Wipe down the frame (if applicable) of your glassboard

Cleaning Don’ts

 • Get glass cleaner between the glass and the frame. This will damage the appearance of the board
 • Use cleaners that use bleach, abrasives, solvents, or pine oil. These items will damage the glass and the frame’s finishing
 • Leave stains for a long period of time. The longer stains sit, the harder they will be to remove

The classic, modern communication tool

Did you know that projection technology has been around since 1659? Invented by Dutch scientist Christian Huygens, he used a concave mirror to maneuver light from a lamp onto a glass slide, creating a projection effect. Fast forward several hundred years to the modern era, your interactions with projection technology might be: the new immersive art installation you saw last weekend, the classroom lecture from your professor, the movie you most recently saw, or maybe the presentation deck you viewed on the big screen from the business meeting last week. Projection technology is everywhere and can be utilized in countless creative ways.

At Clarus, many of our diverse glassboard products have the capability of being a projection surface. Whatever space you are in, and whatever ideas you need to communicate, Clarus products offer high-quality and versatile visual display options.

Why projection?

From a concepting idea, to an art piece, project, or business proposal you are presenting, giving your audience a coinciding visual makes a lasting impact. In comparison to TVs or monitors, using projection technology is easier on the viewer’s eyes, creating less strain and allowing for longer focus.

When it comes to projection surface options, there is an array of products on the market, such as a standard whiteboard or a rollable projection screen. Both of those items will do the job, but what if we told you we could do you one better?

Why Clarus projectable glassboards?

Clarus projection glassboards consist of a piece of acrylic with transparent sheets on both sides- the top sheet is opaque enough to block any light from reaching your eyes directly, and the bottom sheet allows full transparency. This combination will let the perfect amount of light through, allowing the projector’s image to reflect off of it.

Once you have your glassboard, projecting is quite simple: just as you would with a standard projection screen, aim your projector at the glassboard, pull up your presentation or materials, and start communicating your ideas.

In comparison to other projection screen options, Clarus products stand apart from the rest with high-quality standards, sleek and modern materials, and a range of customization options. With Clarus, you can choose from an array of sizes, shapes, and colors for the power of creative choice. Still on the fence? See below for a few more reasons why glassboards are the next leading projection surface:

 • Glassboard images are more vivid than any other material used for screen projections
 • Clarus products are not affected by ambient lighting conditions
 • Glassboard projections can be seen even with lights on, unlike traditional projection screens
 • Glassboards are easy to clean and maintain
 • Clarus glassboards are made up of a writable material, so you can mark up your presentation in real-time and bring your visual communications to life

Start projecting your ideas today

At Clarus, we are proud to ensure that our products will not only grant customers creative mobility, but will look great for years to come. Did you know that Americans used more than 12 million tons of glass products in 2018? Glass is such a common material that many people around the world use it without giving it a second thought. From food containers, bottles, and jars, to household and industrial items, glass is a part of most people’s everyday lives. This diverse material lives nearly everywhere, but did you know that glass can help enhance your workspace too?

Whether you are looking to amplify your brand or simply learn about how glassboards can customize your space, Clarus can help. Read over a few of the basics that will help you on the start of your office design and branding journey.

Brand Awareness

Customers should be able to recognize a business simply by looking at colors and patterns; for example, if you saw red and white, it may remind you of Coca- Cola. The key to get customers to associate you with your logo and brand colors is to implement these elements throughout all touchpoints, both internally and externally. There should be no question on your branding, and incorporating our colorful glass into your office design can help promote your company and instill brand consistency even further.

With Colors by Clarus™, our true color matching system, we are able to give customers the power of full-color customization. Whatever your colors, we can create a custom, premium, writable glassboard for your space that embodies your brand. To take customization a step further, we’re even able to add in company logos and designs to any of our products. Strategically placing branded glassboards around your space projects your business identity to both employees and customers.

Color Psychology

Did you know that colors can have an impact on a person’s mind and feelings? For example, red can facilitate excitement, and blue can bring people calm. When decorating your space, consider which glass color would best fit the purpose of your room. Do you want people to collaborate and create? Relax and unwind? Or do you want to create a sense of happiness for your customers that are entering your storefront? Use colored glass to your advantage and create your customized environment.

Categorization & Versatility

Once you have the right colors identified for your business, it is now time to decide which Clarus glass product is best for your specific needs, and where to place it to get the best use. If you have a large office, it may be beneficial to use dividers or moveable sliding glass to separate the space into smaller areas, or to use a mobile glassboard to give your employees the ability to wheel their ideas around the office. In some cases, businesses can utilize multiple brand colored glassboards to differentiate between departments, making it easy to navigate through a large building. However you want your business area to flow, Clarus has a product to help streamline the environment in just the way you’re looking for.

Clarus Glass Boards vs Whiteboards: Which is Better? https://www.clarus.com/blog/clarus-glass-boards-vs-whiteboards-which-is-better/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=clarus-glass-boards-vs-whiteboards-which-is-better Wed, 18 Aug 2021 15:03:07 +0000 https://www.clarus.com/?p=60742
Are you outfitting your office or classroom with new boards? Click here to read about Clarus glass boards vs whiteboards and which you should choose.

When it comes to formulating ideas, collaboration is key. Whether it’s bringing together ideas from across the office or managing student’s suggestions, writing them down is the way to go. When you write these ideas down, you want flexibility and the ability to change things on a whim.

Whiteboards and Clarus glass boards are two of the most common methods used to record ideas in a classroom or office setting.

But which one is better for you? How do you know which one will elevate the design of your classroom or office space?

Here’s a simple breakdown of both glass boards and traditional whiteboards to help you figure out which one is best for you.

Features of Whiteboards

Whiteboards are a classic staple of any classroom or office space. Whiteboards are a retro look that can show the age of your space.

Melamine Whiteboards

Made of laminated resin with a cardboard backing, melamine boards are nonmagnetic. The lack of magnetism and cheap materials makes customization impossible.

Because of the weak material, these boards will get damaged over time. Scratches will make them impossible to write on. The boards will warp making storage and usage extremely difficult.

The surface of these boards is also porous. The more you use them, the more the marker will sink into the board. This causes ghosting, which is difficult to remove without the usage of harsh chemicals.

Cost

Melamine boards are the cheapest option of any type of board. However, having to replace them every few months will make costs add up. Having to purchase cleaning supplies to try and maintain it will get expensive as well.

Features of Clarus Glass Boards

Clarus glass boards have a lot of features that make them unique and stand out from a traditional whiteboard.

Durability

The first thing you’ll notice about glass boards is it is made of tempered safety glass. This results in extreme levels of durability, which is great if you have a board that can move around the room. The frame holding the board is also made to last.

Teachers often have to switch classrooms, and office spaces may change. The durability of these boards means you can take it from space to space without any damage happening.

Glass boards make keeping your space clean and professional a breeze. Glass is a nonporous material, so when you erase markers from the board, there will be no ghost marks left behind. You won’t have to use harsh chemicals to get out those stains, which is great for you and your wallet.

Glass boards are easier to disinfect and offer bacteria-resistant surfaces because they are nonporous. This is a great hygienic solution to an area that gets heavy usage by many people throughout the day.

Color and Customization

Glass boards offer high levels of customization to match your classroom or office aesthetic perfectly. Clarus glass boards come in both a clear option and a color option.

The standard clear boards will blend it with any area. It keeps sightlines open so your office or classroom feels less cramped, which is great if you’re working with a small space.

Clarus glass boards come in more than 150 different colors. This means you can pick the perfect color to go with your brand, workspace, or content. It also allows for a fun pop of color in your space while still being usable.

Engraving your glass boards with logos or a graphic can a personal touch to your space. Adding LED lights also elevate your space to the next level. Between the color, lights, and customization, everyone will want to use your board!

Size Variation

Clarus glass boards are available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, making them perfect for any space. You can have a larger one for meeting spaces and smaller ones for desks or personal usage.

Purchasing different sizes and colors to put together adds to the creativity these boards offer. You can color-code rooms or tasks with different types of boards. The options are endless!
